Cypher VII is the College of William & Mary's annual hackathon. We'll come together for a weekend and learn new stuff, have fun, and create cool projects. Come on down to learn from our workshops, get to know tech companies both local and nationwide, or compete for prizes! We pride ourselves on being accessible and welcoming to everyone, regardless of your skill or experience. So try something new! It's Cypher!
This year, Cypher VII is is going hybrid! William & Mary students will be able to join us in-person at the Swem Library. Not eligible? Fear not! We will be hosting all of our events and workshops virtually as well. We will be using Slack as our main platform for the event and Zoom for the opening and closing ceremonies, tech talks, and showing off hacks at the end of the hackathon. Many events will be recorded and available on the Cypher YouTube channel afterwards. You can find some of last year's videos there too!
For more about our COVID-19 policy, see here.
New this year, we're branching out to all kinds of projects. Code or no code, if you can make it in a weekend, we want to see what you can do!
Cypher VII is for anyone and everyone. Whether you've pioneered new machine learning techniques or you've never written a line of code in your life, we've got you covered. Cypher is for people of all interests and backgrounds, so if you've ever considered trying something new, now's your chance!
Available hardware includes: Amazon Alexa Devices, Oculus Rifts, Arduinos, drones, 3D printers, and more!
We are thrilled to be working with WMFIRE, a great W&M student org that advocates for immigrant rights. You'll have the chance to create a hack that helps advance their mission!
